As mentioned earlier Farmstation has grown into this mission through continued efforts in promoting 100% organic fertilizers, residue free methods of farming, propagating seed saving and the usage of farm made non hybrid seeds and also promote other farmers to grow them and do the same. We as well host trainings on transitioning to organic agriculture, but if other farmers don’t have the time and place to sell and the market is not there, it can only go so far and not any further.
We also meet many urban people interested in being able to find nutritious, safe and affordable food to eat for themselves and their families. Our attempt with this dinning space and shop is to create an urban rural handshake and connect consumers and producers to known each other better, to understand where our food comes from, what is in our food and how this affects us daily.
Farmstation and Farmstation dinning space is a project aimed at supporting reverse migration from urban to rural, to support organic farmer networks and propagate bio diversity.
Most of the produce come from our own grow areas, but we cannot grow everything, since Farmstation also focuses on organic farming, seed saving and training besides facilitating weekend farming for urbanities, wellness with Ayurveda, natural healing processes, traditional methods of producing oil and ghee, honey bee and Indian breed cow rearing and utility and most importantly earth house living.
We are not yet 100% holistic, but we are trying our best to create a method and a market that can support the Indian farmer’s transition to sustainable food system.
